Gotye that we used to know

本名Wally de Backer的Gotye在比利時出生，澳洲長大，年少時即在臥室嘗試創作音樂，展現其過人天份。他擅長使用「拼貼」手法製作具流行元素的電子音樂，從2003年至今發行了三張錄音室專輯和一張混音專輯。

〈Somebody That I Used to Know〉收錄在其第三張錄音室專輯《Making Mirrors》當中，這首歌請來紐西蘭女歌手Kimbra跨刀獻聲，成為Gotye最令人耳熟能詳的曲子。不僅在世界各地排行榜頻傳捷報，更使得Gotye拿下澳洲唱片大獎；此外，該曲的MV亦在youtube網站創下3億5千萬的驚人點閱數。
